CO Newsletter February 2024

Dear Creative Oundle friend,

Welcome to our February Newsletter! We have a few exciting events to tell you about in this edition: beginning with the film Dream Horse on Friday 16th February (this Friday!). This lovely  story is based on the true story of Dream Alliance, a horse that raced in the Welsh Grand National, it tells the story of an unlikely race horse bred by Welsh bartender and cashier Jan Vokes. With very little money and no experience, she convinces her neighbours to chip in a bit each week to help raise Dream in the hopes he can compete with the racing elites. Dream rises through the ranks with grit and determination and goes on to race in the Welsh Grand National.

As always,  the film begins at 7.30pm with a short before the main event, and the bar opens both at 7pm and also during an interval mid way through the programme! Come along and make an evening of it with friends.
Book here or turn up on the night and buy a ticket https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/booking/select/RdiEJKhzXNnT

Comedy Night – March 30th, 7:30 PM (Doors and Bar Open at 7:00 PM): Nothing to do over the Easter weekend? Do
come along for another of our excellent comedy evenings – the January event was completely sold out so do book your tickets in good time! This evening stars the amazing Michael Akadiri inaugural winner of the Komedia New Comedy Award, finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2021. Supported by the hugely talented Friz Frzzle whose musical comedy has appeared on BBC Radio 4, as well as local talent Alexander Haddow. Compered by Oundle’s own Farah Sharp. A show not to be missed!

PLEASE NOTE  — This show may contain references to adult topics like sex/drugs/swearing and is not suitable to under 16s.

Both events will be held at Oundle’s Queen Victoria Hall, providing a cosy and welcoming atmosphere for an evening of entertainment and community. There will be an interval in both events where you can refill your glasses and stock up on snacks!

You can purchase tickets either from Ticketsource or our website or on the door – although we would prefer you to book online if possible so that we can gauge demand and put out the appropriate number of seats!

And to round off our spring events, we are showing the 2016 film of Dad’s army on 22nd March, and our ever popular Open Gardens events will be held on Sunday 9th June 2024 – do pop the dates in your diary!

There are many other events happening in our lovely town – see posters for details below, look on our website for more details, or visit the Love Oundle website which shows details of all sorts of activities including those below!

Remember to mark your calendars and spread the word . Your support helps us continue our mission of promoting the arts and fostering creativity within our community.

Warm regards,
